CEI is looking for a Regional Business Development Representative - a relationship-driven, strategic professional who's ready to lead growth across multiple sectors in one of the most dynamic regions in the country. In this role, you'll lead business development efforts for Private Commercial (Retail, Fueling & Convenience, and Commercial Residential) and Public Sector markets (Outdoor Recreation, Municipal Transportation, and Sports Field Engineering). As the Regional Business Development Representative, you will identify opportunities, build lasting relationships, and connect CEI's technical expertise with client needs across multiple markets. You'll serve as a bridge between CEI's project teams, sector leaders, and regional partners to expand our presence and strengthen our reputation throughout Northwest Arkansas. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of business development experience within the civil engineering, land development, or municipal infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record in relationship building, strategic planning, and pipeline development across diverse client groups.
  • Strong organization, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident public speaker and relationship builder.
  • Experience managing and tracking opportunities through a CRM platform (Deltek Vantagepoint, Salesforce, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally for meetings and events.
  • Understanding of the Northwest Arkansas market and professional network preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities across targeted sectors within Northwest Arkansas.
  • Provide regular market insight to leadership, including competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with municipal officials, developers, consultants, contractors, and other decision-makers.
  • Support sector leaders in advancing market strategies and client development initiatives.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with sector leaders, project managers, technical leads, and marketing staff to position CEI for upcoming pursuits.
  • Support proposal development and interviews, ensuring alignment with client expectations and CEI's brand.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and networking activities to promote CEI's services and expertise.
  • Track opportunities and client interactions using the company's CRM system to manage pipeline development and performance metrics.
  • Report regularly on progress toward business development goals, key metrics, and regional performance indicators.
  • Participate in industry and community organizations, conferences, and trade shows to strengthen CEI's visibility and brand recognition.
  • Collaborate on strategic planning initiatives and market analyses to inform business development strategy, and marketing initiatives to strengthen client relationships and expand regional market share.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support CEI's continued growth and client success.
