If this sounds like a team you want to be on, we have an opportunity for you to join us as a Regional Associate Director. The Regional Associate Director is a senior leader within Planning Services and has a direct responsibility for a segment of business operations for a geographic region. The Associate Director helps define the strategic direction of Planning Services while providing personnel and client management oversight. The Associate Director is considered a Leader of Leaders within Gordian. The Associate Director engages with various functional groups including operations, executive leadership, product development, finance, marketing, customer success and sales. The Associate Director role has four primary areas of focus: Personnel administration, (hiring, management, and coaching); client relations and project execution oversight; revenue generation and forecasting; and proposal writing and fee-setting for projects in support of the sales team. The Associate Director is responsible for supporting project teams through clear communication of responsibilities, providing on the job coaching, and linking project opportunities and experiences to team members career development. The Associate Director tracks and supports key performance indicators for the business as it relates to their responsibilities and for the group at large and for individuals within the team. The Associate Director both serves and advocates for the client and contributes to the professional development of their team. The Associate Director may have from 3-7 team members as direct reports to manage, with each of those team members having 3-7 direct reports on their teams. Thus, the Associate Director is leading a large team of 10 – 20 Gordian employees. Gordian also utilizes the services of outside contractors, and the Associate Director has various responsibilities to interact with and manage the work of these individuals. The Associate Director is considered the intermediate to expert point in senior operations leadership and reports to the Regional Director of Planning Services. Location: Remote (In-office available in some locations); near major airport This position works remotely, with up to 30% travel. Travel may include client site meetings, executive presentations to leadership and internal travel for business operations and strategy meetings. Additional travel as a subject matter expert may be required for sales and marketing meetings and events.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-year bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited institution, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of project management experience in an architectural, engineering, facilities management, operations management, construction management or other closely allied role related to buildings and infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of people management experience in a team environment and experience managing remotely based operations.
  • 7+ years account management experience, and the ability to demonstrate success in forecasting, maintaining, and exceeding revenue targets on a regular basis.
  • Strong public speaking skills including experience in developing presentation materials.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills/ability to manage multiple Account Managers.
  • Confident communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal and external organizations to drive positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure, exercise good judgment, and act in a professional manner when challenged; and to build and sustain positive and collaborative working relationships.
  • Sound decision making in a fast-paced environment; a consultative approach to managing complex relationships, escalation problem solving, internal and external risk management.
  • Strong data analytical skills including the ability to support team members through KPI data tracking.
  • Has a track record of driving continuous improvement and sustainability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and willingness to be flexible if priorities change.
