The Regional Applications Engineers role is truly cross-functional and provides an essential link between our corporate resources, services, sales, and our clients by assisting with specific customer requests. They work with project team members to optimize customer control systems. You will be expected to work through complex technical items, keeping internal and external groups aware of new product and site configuration information, project sales support, and selling our control system products & services. The Regional Application Engineer role is bucketed into four main categories: 25% - Customer Support 30% - Sales - Control System/Upgrades/Services 25% - Project Sales Support 20% - Control System Optimization & Operations Customer Support: Act as an expert in control systems, explain best practices, and topic-specific assistance as needed. Build client relationships and manage those relationships to create trust and confidence, provide proactive support, and assist with escalated support for complex technical issues. Effectively function as a technical control system liaison between the client and Daktronics, especially product management. Assist services groups including account managers & tech support with customer inquiries regarding workflow or operation. Apply market, production, and sports knowledge to ensure a positive customer experience. AE Selling: Sales of professional services or control system enhancements directly to our customers. These can include software, integrations, and custom services solutions. Additional sales opportunities include equipment sales of control system upgrades, Live Products, Clip Players, and Individual Control Components. Project Sales Support: Assisting internal customers (sales, project management/project team, control system specialist trainers, design & development, field service, and creative services) on new large-scale projects. Activities include presentations, demos, consulting, advising, pricing, installation support and preliminary designs for LED display control systems. Control System Optimization & Operations: Assist external customers to create the experience they desire for their audiences. Utilize technology and technique to help our customers achieve their vision and production goals. Function as an expert technical advisor, determine the client's needs, fill gaps with appropriate services and products to construct a Daktronics solution. Support internal customers/services by ensuring a shared understanding of customer vision.
