About The Position

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for being the first point of contact for patients as they begin their therapy care. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. This is a full-time remote position working Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Customer Service experience required
  • Experience with accurate and proficient written communication
  • Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
  • Ability to: Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Ability to: Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to: Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to: Prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to: Communicate respectfully and professionally in face-to-face, phone and email interactions.
  • Ability to: Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • i-Health Administrative or Medical Office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial support and guidance to patients through phone and text interactions
  • Coordinate a variety of work list queues based on patient contact methods which could include inbound calls, outbound calls and texting
  • Proficiently create a new account in the practice management system
  • Communicate all pertinent information to patients, including appointment information, directions, check-in times, and referral information
  • Verify and accurately document patient insurance information and maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks
  • Perform efficient scheduling with attention to detail using practice management software
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensure accuracy and consistency in patient communications, adhering to company protocols and standards
  • Engage in clear, professional communication, both written and verbal, with both internal and external clients, patients and staff
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to PHI and HIPAA guidelines
  • Respond to inquiries and relay information without delay, maintaining open lines of communication
  • All other duties as assigned
