About The Position

Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting with coordination of referrals, authorization, scheduling of patients and record keeping.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system while providing excellent service.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, employees and the public.
• Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
• Associate's Degree degree in health related field is required.
• Will accept experience in lieu of degree.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
• Epic experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage's patient inquiry and physician referral calls to coordinate intake of new patients; completes new patient pre-registration and scheduling.
• Completes clinical assessment based on a phone interview with patient, family members or patient's physician; provides educational information.
• Obtains patient records and full demographic data; enters the information into the computer for pre-registration.
• Updates and relays information to patients or physicians about clinical activity.
• Maintains the schedule for residents and faculty.
• Assembles records for chart audit.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
