Job description Prepare referrals and obtain authorizations from insurance company for patient appointments scheduled with the specialist office, any inpatient or outpatient procedures and hospitalization Prioritizes patients in Primary Care Physicians panel, stats, expedites and orders over 5 days. Handles and returns referral related calls Acts as a resource for patients or providers who have questions or problems relating to referrals. Completes and addresses phone messages within 24 hours of call. Requirements

  • 2 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient with medical terminology
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Teamwork orientation
  • Ability to remain highly organized and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to utilize sound judgment and resourcefulness in problem solving
  • Ability to follow through with delegated tasks and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Referral experience
  • Medical Assistant or Professional State Certifications related to healthcare

Responsibilities
