About The Position

The Authorization / Referral Coordinator plays a key role on the Millennium Physician Group team in Riverview. This position works closely with providers, patients, front-office staff, billing, and clinical leadership to make sure all referrals and authorizations are processed accurately and on time. The goal is to support smooth patient care and avoid delays in treatment.

Responsibilities

• Process insurance authorizations and referrals for medical services
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain approvals
• Work closely with providers and clinical staff to confirm orders and documentation
• Coordinate with referring physician offices and outside facilities
• Update patient charts and referral status in the system
• Follow up on pending authorizations and resolve issues quickly
• Communicate clearly with patients about authorization status when needed
• Maintain accurate records and meet turnaround time expectations
• Follow company policies and insurance guidelines
