POSITION SUMMARY: The Recruitment Specialist will exercise independent judgment and discretion, in developing strategies to recruit a strong and culturally diverse work force, and promote Directions for Living as an employer of choice in the community by recruiting, sourcing, screening, hiring and onboarding qualified Behavioral Health, Social Service, administrative and support professionals, interns and volunteers to meet the agency’s business needs – and specifically to ensure that the individuals employed by DFL are representative of the diverse populations that we serve. The Recruitment Specialist II will be responsible for connecting with potential candidates online, offline, screening applications, and supporting the hiring supervisors, Program Directors and Division Senior Directors. The Recruitment Specialist will also be responsible for building relationships with Senior Directors, Program Directors and Supervisors to determine open position needs and provide a pool of successful placement candidates from which the hiring Director or Supervisor can pull from. The Recruitment Specialist will build and maintain a network and pipeline of qualified candidates that are diverse and are representative of the people served by DFL on a proactive basis by utilizing proven experience, evaluating skills in relation to the Job description requirements and remaining knowledgeable and up to date with the latest recruiting strategies to meet the specific needs of the agency. The Recruitment Specialist will have the working knowledge and experience required to recruit candidates through a variety of recruitment methods such as sourcing, networking, job boards, use of social media, Team Member referrals, military recruiting and job fairs to ensure we find the most qualified candidates who will bring a positive attitude and the required skill set and experience to our team. This is an advanced recruiter position and requires the following skill sets: Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, must have attention to detail, marketing skills, communication skills, relationship building skills, multitasking skills, time management and teamwork skills. Must be proficient with computers, target-driven and reliable. Must have excellent writing and interview skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or other relevant field with two years of previous experience in Recruitment or a minimum of at least five plus years of Recruitment or working in a “similar role” may substitute for educational requirement
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Proven experience as a Recruitment Specialist, Recruiter or “similar role”.
  • Hands-on experience with the largest job sites like Indeed.
  • Advanced knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media, and niche professional websites like LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, and Stake Overflow.
  • Familiar with applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to include written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Team spirit.
  • Firm and clear understanding of EEO-1, Affirmative Action and Human Resource federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Results driven, sense of urgency, and high standard of professionalism with the ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
