About The Position

We’re hiring a Recruitment & HR Specialist whose primary mission is filling Direct Support Professional (DSP) and caregiver seats with the right people, fast. You’ll own the full hiring pipeline; sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing, while also managing onboarding, credentialing, and core HR operations. This role is approximately 60% recruiting and 40% HR operations. If you love building pipelines and keeping systems clean, this is your seat. You’ll partner with our operations, intake, and matching teams to ensure caregivers are recruited, credentialed, and placed effectively. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a strong fit for candidates with experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, healthcare staffing, caregiver staffing, or HR coordination in fast-paced service environments.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on, high-volume recruiting experience with ownership of a hiring pipeline (not just assisting)
  • Experience managing onboarding end to end, including background checks and compliance documentation
  • Highly organized with strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with HR software (BambooHR or similar HRIS) and Google/Windows platforms
  • Ability to pass Oregon’s Background Check Unit (BCU) screening (a criminal record does not automatically disqualify); high school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting in IDD, home health, behavioral health, ABA, senior living, or caregiver staffing
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
  • Familiarity with Oregon employment law, BOLI regulations, and Paid Leave Oregon
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) or HIPAA compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for DSPs, caregivers, and team members. Sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing
  • Build and manage a continuous candidate pipeline from sourcing through hire, onboarding, and first shift readiness; track time-to-fill, conversion, and 90-day retention
  • Evaluate candidates for reliability, empathy, and mission alignment, not just availability
  • Make hiring recommendations, prepare offers, and keep candidates engaged throughout the process
  • Staff hiring events and job fairs in partnership with our Community Relations & Events team
  • Lead onboarding end to end: offer acceptance → paperwork → background checks → credentialing → orientation → first shift readiness
  • Coordinate caregiver placement with intake and matching teams
  • Ensure all documentation meets Oregon regulatory standards and Background Check Unit (BCU) requirements
  • Maintain employee records in BambooHR, reconcile with scheduling systems, and ensure data integrity
  • Administer benefits, track leave balances (PTO, Paid Leave Oregon), and support employee questions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and support compliance across hiring, credentialing, and records management

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • 401K with 3% employer match
