About The Position

Greater Iowa Credit Union is seeking a Recruiting Specialist to manage full-cycle recruitment activities for branch, operations, and corporate functions. This role involves partnering with hiring managers to attract, evaluate, and hire qualified candidates who align with the credit union's mission, values, and member-service culture. The specialist will ensure all hiring practices comply with employment laws and financial-services regulations, maintain accurate recruiting and filing records, and provide a positive, professional candidate experience. This position offers base compensation only, without commission.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
  • Ability to engage in personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for first-level conflict resolution, relationship building, and soliciting cooperation.
  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions, including job posting, sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer support, to meet organizational staffing needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, communicating clearly and professionally throughout the recruitment process and representing the credit union’s mission and service standards.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements, recruitment strategies, and selection criteria, providing guidance consistent with credit union policies and labor market conditions.
  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, transfers or promotions using paper and electronic records.
  • Conduct recruiting activities in compliance with applicable employment laws, equal employment opportunity requirements, and credit union regulatory standards, maintaining accurate and audit-ready documentation.
  • Initiate and monitor background checks, credit checks, and other pre-employment requirements in accordance with policy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Accurately create, file, maintain, and retrieve electronic and/or paper recruiting records in the applicant tracking system and HR files, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
