About The Position

Headquartered in San Diego, Elite Security & Staffing provides security guards and event staff to facilities and events primarily in the California & Tennessee markets. Facilities under contract include stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters, convention centers, universities, office buildings, residential communities, retail establishments and hundreds of other facilities where people live, work and play. Recruiting Specialist We are seeking to hire an experienced Recruiting Specialist who can hit the ground running. The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for executing full-cycle recruitment, partnering with Operations to identify and fill staffing needs, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new hires. The role ensures compliance with employment laws, and internal policies, especially relating to recruiting, interviewing and onboarding processes. A strong service mindset toward both internal partners and external candidates is essential. This role reports to the Human Resources Manager.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience, with a mix of full-cycle Recruiting and Human Resources, ideally in a high-volume or multi-location environment.
  • Comfort using applicant tracking systems (experience with ADP Recruitment HIGHLY desirable.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web, and cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations impacting recruitment and onboarding.
  • Strong candidate sourcing, interviewing, and assessment capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions under tight timelines.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to cultivate strong partnerships with hiring managers, HR colleagues, and applicants.

Nice To Haves

  • Business Administration education is preferred.
  • Experience working in other Human Resources roles/functions.
  • Security industry experience is preferred, though not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with Operations leaders to assess immediate and long-term workforce needs.
  • Create, post, and manage job advertisements across appropriate platforms; monitor applicant flow and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Source candidates through multiple channels and conduct phone screens, interviews, and candidate evaluations.
  • Analyze local labor market trends to support competitive hiring and retention practices.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure smooth scheduling of new hire orientations and training.
  • Review and process onboarding paperwork to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Verify employment eligibility documentation, state guard cards, licenses, and certifications in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor pre-employment screenings, including background investigations and drug testing; escalate concerns to the HR Manager when appropriate.
  • Communicate new hire details promptly to Operations to facilitate training and post assignments.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with leaders and employees across all levels of the organization.
  • Assist in ensuring personnel files are organized, current, and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Promote adherence to corporate policies, employment laws, and client contractual obligations.
  • Assist with Employee inquiries and communications
  • Escalate complex employee relations or HR matters to the HR Manager for resolution.
