About The Position

BakerHostetler is seeking an experienced and dynamic Attorney Recruiting Manager to lead lateral attorney hiring for our Texas offices. Reporting to the Director of Recruiting, this role is instrumental in advancing the firm’s strategic growth objectives and delivering a best-in-class recruiting experience. The ideal candidate is a proactive, relationship-driven professional who can align talent acquisition strategies with the firm’s broader growth strategy while ensuring operational excellence and exceptional candidate engagement. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Talent Acquisition - Collaborate with Office Managing Partners and Practice Group Leaders to design and implement recruiting strategies that support the firm’s long-term growth and strengthen its market position in Texas. Market Intelligence & Relationship Management - Cultivate strong relationships with leading search firms and industry contacts to ensure a steady pipeline of high-caliber lateral candidates. Leverage market insights to guide recruiting priorities and enhance competitive positioning. Client Service Excellence - Deliver exceptional client service and high-quality work. Take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent, sound judgment to effectively interface with candidates, search firms, and firm leadership. End-to-End Recruitment Leadership - Oversee the full lifecycle of lateral attorney hiring—from sourcing and direct outreach to candidate engagement, screening, and offer negotiation—adhering to the firm’s lateral recruiting procedures and ensuring a seamless and professional experience for candidates and internal stakeholders. Interview Process Oversight - Coordinate all aspects of the interview process, including scheduling, feedback consolidation, and decision facilitation. Advise leadership on candidate evaluation and offer development to secure top talent. Budget Management - Oversee recruiting budgets for the Texas offices, ensuring efficient resource allocation and compliance with firm processes. Strategic Communications - Prepare and deliver confidential documents and reports—including Policy Committee memos—to support partner recruiting and executive decision-making. Additional Responsibilities Collaborate with Recruiting Team and Firmwide Recruiting leadership on growth initiatives, with specific attention to Southwest region. Support associate mentor program leaders as needed with professional development initiatives. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours if needed. Why Join BakerHostetler? Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in a law firm or legal search firm environment.
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and other attorney search tools; MS Office Suite required; familiarity with ViGlobal suite is a plus.
  • Advanced interviewing techniques and strong understanding of attorney recruiting best practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Highest level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently.
