About The Position

The Recruiting Intern will directly assist the Director of Recruitment with a wide range of projects related to HR administration, compliance, onboarding/orientation, and employee benefits. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills they may have acquired in school related to areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting. They will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources has within the organization. The HR Recruitment Intern will also directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of projects with an emphasis on recruitment. This internship is intended to be educational and will give the needed experience and skills to anyone looking to enter HR as a career. The intent is that the intern gains a better understanding of the role that Human Resources plays in a business.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
  • Enrolled in, or graduated from, university coursework; preferably with a major or concentration in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Marketing.
  • Must be interested in active engagement and people relations.
  • This role will be required to sign and adhere to the terms and conditions of the company’s Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • This role will be required to meet Compliance/Privacy training as a condition of internship.
  • Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.
  • Robust assessment, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to commit to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of recruitment
  • Assist recruitment coordinators and specialists
  • Create new hire personnel files and enter new employee data in HRIS system
  • Respond to employment inquires in a timely manner
  • Assist with special corporate events
  • Attend seminars and meetings relative to the HR profession
  • Keep personnel information filed properly
  • Coordinate candidate interviews and screenings
  • eMail onboarding materials
  • Review Form I-9 and E-Verify
  • Worker's Compensation & OSHA compliance
  • Unemployment Insurance
  • Overview of HR best practice
