About The Position

The Recruiter will build and run Karoo’s recruiting engine. This person will develop scalable processes, sourcing strategies, and systems that support high-volume hiring across both clinical and non-clinical roles. This person will own the full-cycle recruiting process while continuously improving how we attract, assess, and close talent. By building strong recruiting systems and maintaining a great candidate experience, the Recruiter will directly impact retention, team effectiveness, and Karoo’s ability to deliver on its mission. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can manage fluctuating hiring volume, and knows when to leverage third-party recruiters to scale intelligently.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in digital health, healthcare, or high-growth startups.
  • Proven experience recruiting both clinical and non-clinical roles at volume.
  • Strong process and systems orientation; comfortable building recruiting infrastructure from scratch.
  • Experience managing third-party recruiters or agencies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and adjusting quickly as hiring priorities shift.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve Karoo’s recruiting processes across sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
  • Build scalable workflows that support both steady-state hiring and rapid volume spikes.
  • Partner with HR to select and optimize recruiting tools (ATS, sourcing platforms, scheduling tools).
  • Ensure recruiting processes are efficient, well-documented, and deliver a strong candidate experience.
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for a high volume of roles across clinical care delivery (RNs, care coordinators), Operations, Product, Engineering, and other Corporate departments.
  • Develop sourcing strategies tailored to different talent pools, labor markets, and role types.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, align on candidate profiles, and manage expectations.
  • Drive timely, high-quality hiring decisions while maintaining a high bar.
  • Proactively build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles, especially clinical positions.
  • Leverage multiple sourcing channels (direct sourcing, referrals, job boards, partnerships) to reduce reliance on agencies over time.
  • Track sourcing effectiveness and continuously refine strategies based on results.
  • Coach hiring managers on interview best practices, inclusive hiring, and efficient decision-making.
  • Keep hiring managers informed on pipeline health, timelines, and market dynamics.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leaders during periods of intense hiring activity.
  • Work with the leadership team to identify when external recruiters or headhunters are needed to support hiring volume or specialized roles.
  • Manage logistics with third-party recruiters, including onboarding and role scoping, and ensuring external partners represent Karoo’s brand and values in the market.
  • Track and report on key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, candidate experience, agency usage).
  • Use data to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and forecast recruiting capacity needs.
  • Partner with HR to continuously evolve recruiting practices as the company scales.
