About The Position

Global Environmental & Industrial Response (GEIR) partners with clients across utilities, mining, chemical, pulp & paper, and manufacturing industries to deliver innovative environmental, health, and safety solutions. Our highly trained teams provide 24/7 industrial cleaning, hydro blasting, vacuum truck services, and specialized solutions for sulfuric acid facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and full turn-key turnaround services. We also manage waste handling, transportation, and disposal in strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recruiter to join our team, specializing in talent acquisition for our environmental and industrial response operations. This unique role requires more than just standard recruitment expertise; the successful candidate must possess prior hands-on experience within the environmental or industrial field to effectively understand, assess, and recruit top talent. A key component of this position involves traveling to our various plant and field locations to gain firsthand knowledge of the job environment, build rapport with existing crews, and actively source qualified professionals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in the environmental, industrial response, or a related heavy industrial/field services sector is required.
  • Experience recruiting for large-scale projects, shutdowns, and turnaround work.
  • Ability to manage high-volume hiring needs.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • A proven track record of finding and hiring drivers with commercial licenses, including those with specialized endorsements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various plant and field locations, often requiring flexible hours.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the environmental and industrial sectors, including technical requirements, relevant certifications (e.g., HAZWOPER, OSHA, MSHA, TWIC), equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong ability to build rapport and trust with Hiring Managers.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year MVR.
  • High degree of dependability.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent presence in the field by traveling to job sites and plants.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with field crews, supervisors, and project managers to understand their unique needs, challenges, and team dynamics.
  • Leverage personal field experience to accurately define position requirements and create compelling, accurate job descriptions that resonate with industry professionals.
  • Utilize innovative sourcing strategies, including industry-specific job boards, professional associations, local networking events, and community outreach, to identify and attract high-quality active and passive candidates.
  • Screen and interview candidates, assessing their technical skills, safety consciousness, regulatory knowledge, and cultural fit within our demanding work environments.
  • Ensure all hiring practices comply with relevant employment laws and company safety standards, prioritizing the identification of candidates who deeply understand the importance of workplace safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records and activity within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Represent the organization at industry job fairs, trade school events, and professional career seminars to attract top-tier talent.
  • Proactively identify candidates through diverse channels, including specialized job boards, industry networks, social media, and professional referrals.
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust talent pipeline of skilled tradespeople, industrial laborers, and supervisory personnel to ensure project readiness.
  • Monitor labor market trends with competitors, wage rates, and competitor hiring activity.
  • Facilitate a seamless transition for new hires by managing comprehensive onboarding documentation and leading professional orientations.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities and placements strictly adhere to company policies, regulatory standards, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Execute hiring processes that uphold the highest standards of legal compliance, ensuring all talent acquisition activities meet federal, state, and local labor requirements.
  • Complete any other tasks given to you that will help the hiring team succeed.
