Recreation Therapist (Part-Time)
About The Position
RECREATION THERAPIST Part-Time (Weekends and Holidays) Mental Health Services (MHS), is a community based mental and behavioral health agency located in the heart of Springfield. MHS serves the Clark and Madison County area with Outpatient Services, Adolescent & Youth Services, and a 16-bed Acute Care In-Patient Unit, open 24 hours, located inside our Main Building on N. Yellow Springs Street. Our Madison County office is conveniently located in London, OH at the Madison County Hospital. MHS is currently hiring for a part-time Certified Recreation Therapist for nights, holidays and weekends on the Acute Care Unit (ACU). This position has some flexibility in days and times worked. The Recreation Therapist provides therapeutic adjunct therapy recreation services for the inpatient unit, assuring that all therapeutic activities are consistent with accepted National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Credential practices and provides patients with therapeutic experiences as supervised by Certified Therapeutic Recreational Supervisor (CTRS). Aides will run therapy groups on the weekends as scheduled by the Recreation Therapist and ensure that clients are receiving service son the weekends. Candidates must have: Bachelor's Degree in Art, Music, Therapeutic Recreation, Occupational Therapy, or related discipline Recreation Therapist Certification/LPAT Cert. 1-3 years experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting NVCI First Aid/CPR MHS provides CPR/First Aid and NVCI (CPI Blue) for all new staff, along with on-going education and on-the-job training opportunities. All MHS candidates are required to have an Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children), 5-panel drug screen and residential candidates must have a 2 step TB (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Art, Music, Therapeutic Recreation, Occupational Therapy, or related discipline
- Recreation Therapist Certification/LPAT Cert
