About The Position

Recreation Guest Service Agents act as the liaison for guests to Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Recreation Department. They may assist in scheduling reservations, completing retail transactions, and will assist guests with any questions regarding the Resort. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position is $12.00 per hour + commission/tips.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent vocational training certificate, required.
  • One year of previous experience in a Customer Service, related role required.
  • Passion for providing extraordinary service imperative.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  • Must be able to lift and carry minimum weight of 20 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for the majority of the shift while reaching, bending and stooping as needed.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and intense work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Availability for Holiday and one weekend day per week preferred.
  • Possess a strong interest in Ecology and our natural world preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional and individual service, while adhering to all resort standards.
  • Schedule and coordinate reservations for the Recreation Department all while delivering the utmost level of customer service to guests and visitors.
  • Take phone, email and in person reservations for nature tours, rentals, camps and recreational programs, lessons and classes
  • Process guest’s payments and accounting closeouts for the Nature Center’s retail shop.
  • Help to maintain organization, supplies and cleanliness of the Heron Park Nature Center.
  • Promptly and appropriately, greet all guests and visitors to the Heron Park Nature Center.
  • Appropriately answer and accurately respond to, or route, telephone calls.
  • Always utilize a friendly, patient, and pleasant telephone voice.
  • Strong typing and phone skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are a must in this role.
  • Be able to multi-task, work well under pressure, pay close attention to the details, be able to confidently provide recommendations for a wide variety of resort and island area activities / services, and possess strong communication skills.
  • Possess a desire for continuously seeking out the opportunity to explore and experience new area attractions and restaurants in order to build upon your knowledge of Kiawah Island and the surrounding area.
  • Uphold the core values, policies and procedures of the resort.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
