About The Position

Under general supervision, plans, organizes, and conducts a program of recreational activities at a park, or community center, large facility, or specialized program.

Requirements

Ability to plan, organize and implement youth and adult recreation programs
Write reports and evaluations
Understand and follow written and oral instructions
Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants and the public
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.

Responsibilities

Opens, secures, and cleans program areas before and after program use; prepares program areas for scheduled recreational activities and events.
Prepare fields, picnic shelters, open spaces for recreational use
Assists in conducting and monitoring recreational program activities within one or more assigned program areas
Inspects program areas and equipment and recommends maintenance and repair as needed
General supervision of activities and grounds at various City facilities.
Provide the highest level of customer service to both external and internal groups
Create a pleasant environment by ensuring park safety
Assists with special events, as needed
Adhere to City policies and procedures
Perform other duties as deemed necessary or assigned
