About The Position

Provo City is looking for a part-time Recreation Leader to work with the special events team at Provo Rec Center. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply. What is the compensation? Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour Part-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following perks: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Any experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the work.
• A valid, lawful Driver License may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Event-planning experience preferred.
• Social media and marketing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, schedule, implement, and evaluate assigned recreational special events.
• Develop registration forms, policies, and practices in collaboration with operations staff.
• Establish and maintain schedules.
• Identify and report performance issues to supervisor.
• Provide informational feedback on event participation level and effectiveness.
• Solicit information from program participants.
• Post event notices and updates across platforms.
• Create digital, print, and graphic materials aligned with brand guidelines.
• Manage and schedule social media content.
• Supervise volunteers as needed.
• Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.
