About The Position

Campland on the Bay is a full-service, destination RV resort. Located in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego, we occupy 40 prime acres on Mission Bay just east of Crown Point. Recreation leaders lead and monitor fun activities (dodgeball, anyone?) and ensure guest safety while participating in activities or while enjoying our pools and hot tubs, water slides, skateboard park and playground. Recreation leaders make sure games and activities go off safely and with everyone having a chance to participate, control queues, keep the pool area clean and tidy, enforce skateboard park rules and other tasks as assigned by management. Hours fluctuate depending whether we're in our summer busy season and must be able to work weekends, holidays and evening shifts. EOE M/F/D/V. On any given shift, you may perform some or all of the following tasks: • Lead such games as dodgeball, capture the flag, and horseshoes, or arts and crafts sessions • Approach guests about following skateboard park, playground and pool area rules and regulations for the safety of all. • At any event for which queues form, ensure guests move through in an orderly fashion and use the attraction safely; may check tickets or other methods used to show guests have paid to use the water slide. • Contact security as needed • Keep pool deck furniture clean • Monitor playground and skateboard park, enforce skateboard park rules. • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Exercise sound judgment. You need to make the right call about situations you can handle and when to get help.
• Have the backbone to approach guests to enforce water slide, pool, playground, and skateboard park regulations and make they follow recreation activities' guidelines.
• Have effective communication and interpersonal skills.. Right or wrong, guests must always be satisfied.
• Demonstrate patience, emotional control and tact.
• Working conditions are outdoors. Physical requirements include being able to sit or stand for long periods, speak, hear, and see, grasp objects, walk, bend, squat or kneel.
