The Recovery Specialist assists clients with daily living activities, tracks, monitors, and documents client behaviors and interactions. They also assist in planning therapeutic recreation for groups and may lead individual and group activities. The role involves completing day-to-day program tasks, monitoring clients and the program facility to ensure safety and compliance with program guidelines. This position serves as the point of contact by providing coverage of the front desk, reception area, and phone systems, and provides administrative and program support for staff and residents. Centerstone is a nonprofit health system providing mental health and substance use disorder treatments nationally through outpatient clinics, residential programs, telehealth, and an inpatient hospital, with specialized programs for the military community, therapeutic foster care, children’s services, and employee assistance programs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in psychology, social work, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with the criminal justice system and the Department of Child Services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists clients with daily living activities and tracks, monitors and documents client behaviors and interactions.
  • Assists in planning therapeutic recreation for groups, and may lead individual and group activities with clients.
  • Completes day-to-day program tasks, monitors clients and the program facility to ensure safety and compliance with program guidelines.
  • Serves as the point of contact by providing coverage of the front desk, reception area, and phone systems.
  • Provides administrative and program support for the staff and residents.
  • Assists clinical staff in meeting and monitoring the client’s medical and health care needs by observing and documenting client compliance with medication regimes as dictated in the treatment plan.
  • Assists in the implementation of agency programs as specified by supervisor.
  • Facilitates group activities according to program schedule and implements individualized care plans as developed by the treatment team.
  • Assists clients in learning how to meet basic needs, including activities such as: medication management, developing life skills (i.e. cooking, money management, cleaning, and parenting), pursuing recreational and leisure activities, housing, transportation, legal, medical and financial assistance, and securing appropriate entitlements.
  • Assists in census management, admissions, and discharges.
