About The Position

Provides leadership, support, and supervision to the recovery coordinators and case aides while providing direct service care to own caseload. This individual must be extremely knowledgeable about the community-based services that are available to the mentally ill population and methods and procedures for accessing these services. Must be familiar with Medi-Cal documentation requirements and standards of practice under Short Doyle contracts.

Requirements

  • Must have at least two years of direct client-facing experience that includes case management and working with the mentally ill population.
  • Must have knowledge of the rehabilitation, Short/Doyle rehabilitation model and Medi-Cal documentation standards.
  • Intermediate level PC skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills and communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
  • Bachelor degree level required in related field
  • Proof of: valid California driver’s license and auto insurance, as well as proof of education are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous training and experience in the Mental Health Recovery Model and Solution Focused Counseling preferred.
  • Prior behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Licensed LCSW or MFT preferred.
  • At minimum, must be registered as an intern with BBSE and complete at least 2,000 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, trains, reviews work and evaluates performance of individuals in the position of Case Aide and Recovery Coordinator.
  • Assure recovery coordinators become knowledgeable and provide the appropriate Medi-Cal documentation as required.
  • Ensures that services are documented and final approved within 24 business hours.
  • Proficient in use of the Electronic Medical Record and in the creation of management reports from the EMR.
  • Ensures that the services being provided reflect Mental Health Recovery Principles, Solution Focused Brief Counseling and Therapy, and fidelity to any Evidence Based Practice at the specific program.
  • Ensures compliance with all contract standards and reporting requirements, including matching staffing to funding silos.
  • Assure recovery coordinators follow up on scheduling commitments and backup plans.
  • Schedules and implements daily Recovery Meetings to review and coordinate all high risk cases.
  • Schedules weekly individual supervision with all Recovery Coordinators to discuss progress, review charts, and address any performance issues.
  • Assigns internal referral recovery coordination duties to staff.
  • May be required to attend county and other related meetings on behalf of clinic/division.
  • Provides direct care services to a reduced caseload of selected clients (for example, 5 Child OR 15 Adult) and adheres to all intake and follow-up documentation as required.
  • Oversee the quality of documentation and provides education and support to staff as needed.
  • Assures that the Recovery Coordinators meet Short/Doyle, contract and program deadlines.
  • May function in leadership/decision making role as “Manager on Duty” in the absence of the Program Director.
  • Monitor staff to ensure they meet or exceed the quarterly Direct Service Hours (DSH) requirement of 300 hours.
  • Maintain and ensures HIPAA, ethical standards and professional boundaries with all staff and clients.
  • Other duties assigned or necessary to support the program and/or the company.
  • Provide the best customer care possible.
