About The Position

ASRC Federal Mission Services is seeking a Records Management Specialist 3 (RMS 3) to support our nationwide contract to provide the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with library and records management services. ASMS librarians, records managers, and docket support staff collect, organize and maintain library and records materials; assist EPA and external customers with document delivery/ILL, reference and research services, etc. Join our growing team today as we expand our services to the US Environmental Protection Agency. Requirements: Associate degree or a bachelor's degree and three years of records management experience. Experience with information technology as it relates to records, data centers, and digitization. Strong experience in Quality Assurance Experience with MS Office including Excel Ability to work with a large team of staff and be able to communicate effectively, patiently, and courteously with all customers Background in records management, library services or similar experience strongly desired NARA certification desirable Self-motivated and highly organized with great attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, work as a team member, and meet deadlines Customer service skills and strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and on teams, to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers and to prioritize and manage multiple on-going projects A proficiency with Microsoft Business Tools--Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Permanent Residency or US Citizenship is required for the Public Trust clearance Physical requirements: Full range of arm movement (e.g., lifting above the head), ability to do data entry, sit and stand for long periods of time, usage of step ladders to reach higher shelves, ability to lift at least 40 pounds in weight on a semi-daily basis, pushing or pulling up to 160 pounds of a cart, and the ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, manuals, and records guidance
  • prepare and deliver training presentations on Records Management (RM) basics and other RM-related topics
  • Utilize EPA Records systems/scanning and monitor Record Schedule changes and their impact on File Plans and the web site
  • Ensure all aspects of the Records Life-Cycle are identified in the File Plan
  • Monitor the storage and disposition of paper records
  • Provide for services to complete scanning of agency paper records into digital format
  • perform detailed indexing of electronic documents by entering metadata, and, participate in EPA efforts to develop and implement strategies to implement electronic records tracking system
