About The Position

An integral part of our local community We are the peninsula’s largest veterinary care provider, with nearly 60 veterinarians and 90 nurses working across our GP Clinics and our Emergency & Referral Hospital. This team ensures every client and patient feels supported from the moment they walk through our doors. We are seeking a confident, calm, and empathetic Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our busy veterinary hospital. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys supporting both pet owners and colleagues, and can balance efficiency with genuine care.

Requirements

• Confidence under pressure and the ability to stay calm in busy situations
• Strong communication skills with a caring, empathetic approach
• Excellent organisational skills and multitasking ability
• A team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive workplace culture
• Previous receptionist or customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for clients, greeting them with warmth and professionalism
• Manage phone calls, appointments, and client enquiries with accuracy and empathy
• Support pet owners during stressful moments with reassurance and understanding
• Assist the veterinary team by keeping workflows smooth and organised
• Handle administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
