About The Position

Reports to the secretary III. Responsible for central communications and performing related clerical tasks in compliance with MTC and customer directives. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year clerical experience
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • Must successfully complete required pre-service training
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements
  • Maintain appropriate facility clearance

Responsibilities

  • Route incoming and inter-office calls and make connections with outside lines for outgoing calls.
  • Place long-distance calls and keep record of all long-distance calls, outgoing and incoming reversed charge calls.
  • Keep directory of location/telephone extension for assigned personnel.
  • Type correspondence, reports and letters; proofread material to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain records, files and appropriate office supplies.
  • Operate office equipment such as copying and calculating machines.
  • Under direction, order and coordinate communication services.
  • Update and maintain facility directory.
  • Greet and direct visitors to the proper office.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  • Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.
