About The Position

The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and employees at the IOC Building. This individual will provide a welcoming and professional environment while performing a variety of administrative and facility support tasks. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The role involves greeting and assisting visitors, employees, and vendors, managing communications, maintaining security procedures, handling mail and deliveries, ensuring cleanliness of common areas, scheduling meetings, assisting the Facilities Manager with administrative tasks and vendor coordination, monitoring office supplies, and supporting company events. Athens Services is a local, family-owned waste collection and recycling company that has been a fixture in the greater Los Angeles community for the past 60 years, providing innovative, consistent, and quality environmental services to more than 250,000 customers in the 50+ communities they serve. Through reuse, recycling, and composting, Athens diverts valuable resources from landfills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a related role or field
  • Strong working knowledge with Microsoft 360
  • Great organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, employees, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain visitor logs, issue badges, and ensure security procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby, reception area, and conference rooms.
  • Schedule and manage meeting room reservations as needed.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with administrative tasks, work orders, and vendor coordination.
  • Monitor office supplies and assist with ordering and restocking as necessary.
  • Support company events and meetings with setup, refreshments, and logistics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
