About The Position

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the associate will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying product accuracy, putting away product, and restocking shelves. The work environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, which allows members to flex responsibilities between departments to improve the efficiency of the warehouse at the direction of their direct supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips. Inspect product for damage, shortages, overages, and other discrepancies and report to management as applicable. Label, tag, and put away product in preparation for shipment ensuring to follow the first-in-first-out (FIFO) model. Conduct accurate inventory counts and report lot information to leadership team. Pull, stage, and process product for relocation between Armor warehouses. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, utilize ladders, etc. Unload commercial semi and box trucks for inbound shipments and annotate discrepancies on the Bil of Lading (BOL). Communicate with internal agencies such as the purchasing, sales, and accounting departments. Cross-Functional Responsibilities Process customer orders accurately using computerized shipping software and hand-held scanners. Coordinate and track shipments via UPS, Spee-Dee, FedEx, and other Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) carriers for final delivery to the customer. Pick products from the shelves with accuracy and attention to detail, matching expiration dates, quantities, and special customer requests according to the sales order. Carefully packaging product to be shipped to our customers to ensure safe delivery with minimal damages. Be a problem solver during the shipping and receiving process, ensuring that discrepancies and issues are reported to the proper authority. Load and unload trucks, operate manual pallet jacks, and climb ladders safely and efficiently. Meticulously execute inventory management techniques such as rotating stock, UPC labeling, and ensuring the first-in first-out (FIFO) model is utilized. LEAN processes Cleaning, organizing, and ensuring the environment maintains safety and health standards. Contribute to building a quality work environment at the Company by taking initiative, respecting others, and being a team player. Following the policies and procedures in the Company handbook. Using good communication by listening and sharing information to enable others to do their jobs effectively. Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to maintain accurate inventory levels and report discrepancies to the leadership team. Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma with courses in math, computer operations, and customer service procedures.
  • Requires one/two years’ experience in shipping environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret pick tickets.
  • Ability to write business correspondence via email.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a computer, ability to become fork-lift certified, work with minimal supervision, follow directions, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to follow directions, prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and work independently.

  • Farm experience and animal health knowledge a plus.
