SUMMARY Verify and keep records on incoming shipments. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and receiving merchandise or material; unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. Confer and correspond with Purchasing to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.Delivers and retrieves wire and equipment form the raw materials storage to shop floor and/or moves production parts to various operations. Performs stocking and re-stocking, ensuring that all product and materials have accurate weight and/or piece count. Prepares pallets, loads and unloads raw material and finished product onto truck, vans or automobile for deliveries. Verifies the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers Verifies that all product and materials have accurate and appropriate identification tags, documentation, and/or paperwork. Reports any mechanical problems encountered with forklifts and powered lifts Performs cycle counting. Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
