About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw and packaging materials. This role involves operating machinery such as the bulk cream yeast control panel and a forklift, monitoring bulk storage tank levels, and ensuring the proper handling and documentation of all incoming materials. The Receiver is also tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the work area, inspecting trailers and tankers for contamination, and ensuring compliance with food safety control points and company specifications. This position requires working variable hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and adherence to company standards for food safety, quality, and customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to use computer and job related software (i.e. MS Office, SAP) as well as various office equipment as needed to perform job functions
  • Basic literacy skills including ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, signage, warnings and understand basic math
  • Ability to communicate clearly using oral and written skills
  • Understand and apply food safety policies, HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices and Personal Safety practices as they apply to the job function
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 65 pounds
  • Physically capable of lifting trays of product weighing an average of 11 pounds frequently
  • Physically able to bend, reach, stoop, push and pull as required in a production operation
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Physically capable of normal range of motion in all extremities
  • Physically capable of working in intense heat conditions
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment screening process which includes a drug screen and review of criminal background and other records as required

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and distribute raw and packaging materials
  • Effectively operate the bulk cream yeast control panel, cream yeast CIP control panel, and a forklift
  • Properly store raw and packaging materials
  • Deliver raw and packaging materials to production areas as needed
  • Ensure raw and packaging material storage racks are properly stocked
  • Empty waste modules as needed and at the end of the shift
  • Clean any spills immediately
  • Maintain work area for cleanliness
  • Monitor the bulk storage tank levels (flour, sugar, oil, cream yeast)
  • Ensure receipt of raw and packaging materials from approved suppliers
  • Record lot numbers of raw and packaging materials correctly
  • Inspect trailers and tankers for possible contamination issues
  • Inspect trailers and tankers for cleanliness, odors, infestations, etc.
  • Ensure correct and legible recording of the condition of the trailers and tankers as well as carrier information
  • Ensure the proper seals are documented with each delivery
  • Ensure seal numbers match those on the Bill of Lading for each delivery
  • Ensure timely and correct completion of receiver tickets for inventory
  • Ensure incoming COA, COC or statement of conformance accompanies each delivery
  • Ensure raw and packaging materials conform to facility specifications
  • Ensure driver identification is verified for each delivery
  • Ensure proper monitoring of food safety control points (seal numbers, condition of hoses, condition of strainer, etc.)
  • Ensure proper re-palletization and cleaning of pallets of raw and packaging materials
  • Ensure proper rotation of raw and packaging ingredients – First In-First Out (FIFO) and First Expired-First Out (FEFO)
  • Notify Production management of issues with company specifications or issues with a delivery
  • Ensure proper settings of the bulk cream yeast control panel and the cream yeast CIP control panel
  • Work variable hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Report to, begin and depart from work at scheduled times
  • Practice of company standards for food safety, legality, integrity, quality and customer service
