The primary responsibility of the Shipper / Receiver is to package and ship all outgoing material and for the receipt of all incoming material. The individual must be able to work under moderate supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 “S ” standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts Verify that all material received is in accordance with documentation, weighing/counting parts as necessary to ensure vendor accuracy. Coordinate with the appropriate departments to assure that shipping and receiving requirements are met. Record appropriate information into computer mainframe, including inventory transactions, receiving, and labels for spare part orders. Contact trucking firms to advise them of available pickups; coordinate their arrivals to minimize waiting time and delays. Coordinate with purchasing departments the status of material that has been expedited. Operate forklift to load/unload trucks and perform other loading dock duties required to maintain an efficient operation. Other duties as assigned. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
