The Receiver and Material Handler role involves driving forklifts, managing materials, performing shipping/receiving functions, checking goods against purchase orders, maintaining records, preparing receiving reports, identifying materials, labeling, storing, and inventorying items. This position also processes warranty items, works with Purchasing and Inventory Control for accurate inventory, operates cranes and hoists, and ensures compliance with health and safety guidelines. Requirements

  • No minimum education required
  • 2+ years shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Proficiency in loading all trailers, flat beds, and vans

Responsibilities

  • Drive forklift and maintain necessary certification
  • Route or deliver materials to correct storage or manufacturing locations
  • Perform shipping/receiving function with regards to material handling; utilize loading dock equipment to ensure a safe loading and unloading process is completed
  • Check goods received to purchase orders or receiving slips, maintain records, and prepare receiving reports
  • Check quantity, type, size, part numbers, dimensions, etc. to properly identify materials
  • Responsible for labeling, storing, and inventorying items
  • Process warranty items such as entering Returned Goods Authorizations into database
  • Work with Purchasing and Inventory Control to facilitate accurate inventory levels and necessary adjustments
  • Operate cranes and hoists
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules
  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s and Systems’ reputation by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
