Job Description The RCM Specialist Intern will support Ensora Health’s Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team by assisting with billing activities, accounts receivable (AR) follow‑up, and claim resolution efforts throughout a 10‑week full‑time summer internship. Working alongside experienced RCM Account Managers, this role provides hands‑on exposure to healthcare billing operations, reimbursement processes, and customer account support. Interns will build foundational knowledge of RCM workflows while contributing to real operational tasks that support clinicians and their practices. Must be a current college student in undergrad (junior or senior) or grad school.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, or a related field.
  • Juniors and Seniors preferred.
  • Interest in healthcare operations, billing, or revenue cycle management.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn complex processes.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills, along with familiarity with standard office tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while following established procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • No prior medical billing or RCM experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with billing activities and AR follow‑up for assigned accounts.
  • Learn how to review, resolve, and document denied or rejected claims.
  • Enter and maintain accurate account notes within practice management systems.
  • Support billing tasks in alignment with customer‑specific guidelines.
  • Help analyze AR reports to understand account health and outstanding balances.
  • Learn to identify and resolve billing rejections and basic claim issues.
  • Gain exposure to multiple practice management systems (PMS) and support work within them.
  • Collaborate with team members, Leads, and Managers to support daily RCM operations.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to strengthen RCM knowledge and skills.
