The RCIS‑Developer Intermediate role encompasses a range of responsibilities leveraging the Microsoft technology stack, with primary focus on Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps. This position supports new requests from internal IU Health stakeholders and addresses issues identified through system monitoring tools. Responsibilities include maintaining existing data and processes, as well as designing and developing new processes, solutions, and technical artifacts. The role is also responsible for producing and maintaining technical documentation in accordance with established standards to ensure sustainable, cross‑team support. Collaboration with internal and external partners—including IT infrastructure, application support, development teams, and operational stakeholders—is essential. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as healthcare, computer systems, or information technology.
  • 3+ years of technical experience with two or more of the following technologies: T‑SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, MDX, DAX, stored procedures, triggers, .NET Framework, or C#.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or newer).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in a production environment.
  • Experience working directly with end users to support systems or applications.
  • Understanding of how data, database, and application errors impact end users.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, research root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Solid knowledge of software applications and the ability to research and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects and requests.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines for report delivery while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an Agile or SCRUM development environment.
  • Experience with source control systems, preferably Azure DevOps Repos.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes, especially within an Azure DevOps environment.
  • Familiarity with medical and/or financial terminology.
  • Knowledge in at least two of the following areas: database applications, report writing, screen modifications, scripting (including PowerShell), or data structures.
  • Experience with HL7 interfaces and 835/837 EDI formats.
