Requirements

  • Education Nursing Diploma required Or Associate's Degree Nursing required Or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
  • Experience 3 years as a Registered Nurse in Emergency and/or Critical Care Setting required
  • Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire required ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire required PALS- Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 days required CPI- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 days required

Responsibilities

  • OPERATIONS & CLINICAL RESPONSE Responds to emergency situations such as Codes, RRTs and Behavioral Health Emergencies Responds to emergencies, rapid response or clinically complex events and serves as a clinical resource during emergency situations. Engages in clinical team activities for midline and PICC line placement as appropriate.
  • CUSTOMER SUPPORT/PATIENT EXPERIENCE Responds to patient, visitor and physician concerns Provides support during challenging interpersonal or care coordination situations and escalates concerns appropriately Offers communication support to patients and families during difficult situations and engages appropriate leadership when escalation is needed
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY Continuing professional education and growth through formal and informal means Seeking learning opportunities for professional growth and role enhancement Continues to develop nursing knowledge and skills, including clinical decision-making, critical thinking, and evidence based practice
  • QUALITY IMPROVEMENT Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes Incorporates evidence-based practice and research to monitor and continuously impact outcomes Provides evidence of participation in process improvement activities
  • FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS Decision Making and Critical Thinking - Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Flexibility and Adaptability - Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed. Delegation- Ability to appropriately delegate tasks within the RN scope of practice and provide guidance to unlicensed personnel as needed.
