About The Position

The Duane L. Corbin Shooting Range is the areas only outdoor live-fire range with pistol, rifle, clay target and archery ranges available to the public. This summer seasonal Range Attendant position will be responsible for the daily operation of the range as front-line customer service including point of sale, fee collection, and compliance. This position reports to Park Operations Managers. Hours of work will include weekends and holidays. Hours will vary based on candidate availability, department needs, and weather.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a driver’s license meeting County standards.
  • Experience in customer service, facility cleaning, and grounds maintenance work preferred.
  • Experience in applicable care, use and safety rules of firearms strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of firearms, safety procedures, and range etiquette.
  • Knowledge of computers and ability to utilize computer software to complete transactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, enforcing park rules, resolving problems, and providing information.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Skill in keeping timely, accurate records related to fee collections and remittance, work requests, destruction and loss forms, public incident forms, etc.
  • Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance activities and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to follow safety rules.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work culture that fosters excellent customer service and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of hunter safety training not required, but preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enforces range rules and safety regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons visiting the range.
  • Maintains a friendly attitude towards the public and provides effective customer service.
  • Keeps detailed records and makes regular reports such as fee collections and remittance, work requests, destruction and loss forms, public incident forms, etc.
  • May leave the shooting house to discuss safe operation with a user and to pick up brass or change garbage liners.
  • Performs maintenance and custodial tasks for the facility, may use cleaning agents and other chemicals in performing tasks.
  • Performs other related work as required.
