Step into the line where American passenger railcars take shape. As the Railcar Welding Quality Assurance Inspector (CWI) at Siemens Mobility’s world-class Rolling Stock facility in Lexington, NC, you’ll start your morning on the Carshell line and move through BG manufacturing, ensuring every weld and machined feature on our coaches meets exacting standards. Siemens has driven infrastructure, electrification, and rail innovation in the U.S. for more than 160 years—and your expertise will help us keep trains safe, reliable, and on time. Your day-in-the-life Begin with configuration and revision checks so every task aligns to the latest drawings, specifications, and guidelines. Conduct hands-on visual CWI assessments, dimensional verifications, and mechanical inspections across welded and machined components and assemblies. Deploy one or more non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques to confirm weld integrity and overall acceptability. Perform first article inspections on parts, assemblies, equipment, and tooling—capturing diagnostics and writing summary reports. Navigate our digital ecosystem daily: enter, maintain, and retrieve data within the MRP system, noncompliance tracking tools, and the Configuration Management System.
