About The Position

Are you mechanically inclined and enjoy working with your hands? Do you like using tools, troubleshooting equipment, and working outdoors year-round? If so, we want you on our team! As a Railcar Mechanic, you'll install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, building structures, and refrigeration systems while following all safety standards and company policies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Requirements

  • Mechanical experience with motorized lifts, warehouse, processing, or manufacturing equipment (2+ years)
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems (2+ years)
  • Industrial refrigeration experience or equivalent combination of trade school and experience (2+ years)
  • Willingness to complete Refrigeration Operator 1 course (CARO) or equivalent within 6 months of hire
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Comfortable working in extreme temperatures (-20°F to 100°F / -25°C to 37°C) with proper PPE and freezer gear
  • Able to lift at least 40 lbs. and handle physically demanding tasks
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends if needed
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in varying noise levels

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, repairing, and evaluating electrical systems, motors, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Maintaining, repairing, and evaluating refrigeration systems
  • Maintaining, repairing, and evaluating building infrastructure and material handling equipment
  • Completing work orders and logging all tasks in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Operating cutting torches and other welding equipment as needed
  • Using motorized lifts safely to inspect, calibrate, and maintain equipment
  • Monitoring contractors to ensure compliance with safety and company standards
