About The Position

As a Rafter Cut Operator at Atlas Tube a division of Zekelman Industries, Kansas City, MO, you will operate forklifts and cranes to move material throughout the facility while supporting production flow, staging, and shipping operations. Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic computer skills and ability to measure accurately.
Ability to become certified for in-house crane and forklift operation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

Lead and promote safe work practices in accordance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
Operate onsite mobile equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes, to maintain material flow.
Operate 10- and 20-ton overhead cranes to move finished steel tubing to machine cradles or staging areas.
Assist shipping with loading customer orders onto flatbed trailers and unloading inbound raw material.
Transport materials throughout the facility, including production equipment, warehouse storage bays, and staging areas.
Perform mandatory visual inspections and safety checklists prior to operating equipment.
Monitor product quality and conduct audits to ensure customer specifications are met.
Spray end paint on prime product when required.
Assist with troubleshooting minor equipment issues on the Signode strapper and escalate concerns when necessary.
Create and apply prime tags to finished product as needed.
Create manual bands for use at the Rafter and/or Haven areas.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Train employees when assigned by the foreman.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
