JOB SUMMARY Under direct supervision, operates multiple types of forklifts and / or cranes to move material around inside or outside of the buildings, from finished product to staging area for preparation to ship to customers, removing metal shavings/and drops to scrap dumpster, and finished products to staging area. Maintains area housekeeping and assists with production operations. 3rd Shift: (7:30pm - 5:30am)

Requirements

• High School or GED
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions; basic computer skills; able to measure
• Ability to become certified for inhouse Crane and Fork Truck operation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
• Operates onsite mobile equipment (forklifts or pendant, overhead, or other site-specific cranes, etc.) to maintain the flow of steel tubes.
• May operate a 10 and 20-ton overhead Crane to move finished steel tubing from entrance or exit end of the buildings to load into various machine cradles.
• May be asked to assist shipping with loading customer loads onto flatbed trailers with multiple sizes of steel tubing of up to 6” in diameter in size with a larger fork truck.
• Unloads inbound raw material loads from flatbed trailers to stack in the storage area in the building.
• Transports material throughout different areas of facility, such as: removes material from the production equipment to stack in the warehouse or storage areas, and unloads inbound material from flatbed trailers to stack in warehouse storage bays relocating material between warehouse or storage areas to open storage space for operations.
• Performs checks and completes a visual inspection and mandatory checklist before operating equipment.
• Oversees product quality meets standards with audits to meet customer needs.
• Spraying end paint on prime product when required
• Assist with equipment issues that may arise on the Signode strapper and fix basic malfunctions or escalate to more senior staff for guidance or resolution.
• Assist in creating and applying prime tags to finished product if needed.
• Creating manual bands that can be used at the Rafter and / or Haven
• Monitors product quality and keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Trains other employees when assigned by the foreman.
• Performs other duties as they might be assigned.
• Requires regular and predictable onsite attendance.
