Do you want to support veterans with precision radiography that aids in accurate diagnoses and effective treatment? If so, this opportunity is for you. We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team supporting the VA healthcare system. You'll play a vital role in patient care by producing high-quality radiographic images that physicians rely on for medical decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse imaging equipment while making a meaningful impact on veterans' health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited educational training program in which technologists are certified as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with a certification in your specialty
  • Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Two (2) years' experience in the operation of diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction of a Radiologist or other medical officer to produce radiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatment
  • Must have worked within a hospital lab setting as an X-Ray Tech in the last six (6) months
  • Current professional liability insurance (evidence required)
  • Must be available to work for the VA at least six (6) months after starting date

Responsibilities

  • Operate diagnostic radiology equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images under the direction of radiologists and medical officers
  • Position patients correctly and ensure proper technique for optimal image quality while maintaining patient safety
  • Follow established protocols and safety procedures, including radiation safety standards
  • Maintain and monitor radiographic equipment to ensure proper functioning and calibration
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to support accurate diagnoses
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed
