About The Position

To work closely with provider and other related staff in a sometimes stressful environment and maintain a positive attitude. Ability to provide patient radiographic services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. Perform radiographic and imaging procedures, producing images for the interpretation by a radiologist or a licensed provider (60% of the time). Performs setup, maintain, and trouble shoot EKG instrument and routes testing information to Cardiopulmonary Department. Recognize abnormal scans and refer immediately to a physician or cardiopulmonary for review and immediate action, if necessary. Other duties include, performing collection by venipuncture, capillary puncture, influenza nasal pharyngeal and oropharyngeal collection, or patient voided urine and perform waived testing with careful attention to safety, quality control, and procedural guidelines. Performs, and set up, result, basic maintenance and troubleshooting of CLIA waived and or moderate testing machines, including urinalysis, pregnancy, glucose, INR, Accuchecks, A1C and blood culture collection techniques and manual hematology. Prepare, process, and trouble shoot various types of patient specimens for testing per CLIA standards. Routinely performs projects in lab. Perform clerical duties including auditing and processing OP requisitions for completion, registering, insurance verification, medical necessity, and filing and routing of patient information to/from Admissions and date collections. Perform other assigned duties necessary for smooth operation of Laboratory Services (40% of the time). To ensure excellent care to every patient every time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Diploma or Certificate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum three year of experience in direct patient care in clinic/medical office setting and two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Arkansas Radiologic Technologist license in good standing required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
  • BLS within the first 6 months of date of hire/transfer date.
  • 6-month lab competency and education verified.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician, PBT desired, but not required.
  • Willing to train individual with desire and initiative to learn laboratory duties.
  • Associates Degree
