About The Position

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist I to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The technologist will carry out all essential functions in accordance with departmental and organizational standards, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient patient imaging services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Completion of required clinical training and ARRT requirements
  • Active New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for the National Registry (ARRT) and successfully pass the examination

Nice To Haves

  • Orthopedic office experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by properly positioning patients, using immobilization devices, and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs
  • Operate radiographic equipment as required for specific procedures
  • Minimize radiation exposure using proper cone and collimation techniques
  • Perform portable X-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms
  • Properly identify and label patient films with name, X-ray number, and correct anatomical side
  • Develop exposed X-ray films using available processing methods
  • Complete patient requisitions including technologist initials, date, film number, and film size
  • Maintain a clean and orderly X-ray room as directed by department leadership
  • Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians during administration
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, patient instruction, film filing, record maintenance, and patient reception
  • Assist patients with mobility needs including lifting, turning, and transferring to and from X-ray tables
  • Meet physical requirements: lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours per day
  • Adapt care to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, including age, culture, language, and sensory impairments
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and families at an appropriate developmental and educational level
  • Adhere to organizational competencies and standards
