About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join a healthcare facility in New Jersey. This role involves independently performing diagnostic radiographic examinations, primarily within the Emergency Department, Trauma, Operating Room, and through portable imaging services. The ideal candidate will have strong acute care experience and be comfortable working with both pediatric and adult patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Successful completion of clinical training and ARRT requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting
  • Ability to work independently in Emergency Department, Trauma, and OR environments
  • Active New Jersey State Radiology License required
  • ARRT National Registry eligible and able to pass registry examination
  • Independent operation of radiologic imaging equipment
  • Strong knowledge of patient positioning, radiation safety, and portable imaging techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift at least 5 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull at least 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 6 hours per shift

  • Pediatric imaging experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, and safely operating imaging equipment.
  • Conduct portable X-ray exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency settings.
  • Apply radiation protection principles, including proper collimation and beam restriction.
  • Accurately identify and label patient images with required information such as name, side markers, and technical details.
  • Develop and process exposed X-ray films following standard procedures.
  • Assist physicians with the administration of radiopaque contrast media when required.
  • Maintain a safe, organized imaging environment in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Provide patient care assistance, including lifting, turning, and positioning patients safely.
  • Deliver age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care; communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, maintaining records, and providing patient instructions.
  • Adhere to all organizational competencies, policies, and professional standards.
