About The Position

IU Health is hiring for multiple Radiologic Technologist and Imaging Technologist opportunities across its facilities statewide in Indiana. These positions may be available in full-time, part-time, and PRN statuses, with shifts including day, evening, night, weekend, and rotating, depending on departmental needs. The Imaging Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment across various radiology modalities such as Radiography (X-ray), Fluoroscopy, Portable Imaging, CT, MRI, Mammography, and Interventional Radiology. Key duties include preparing and positioning patients, explaining examinations, collaborating with medical professionals, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. The role also involves adhering to radiation safety standards, accurate electronic medical record (EMR) documentation, continuous professional development, and participation in minimally invasive or image-guided procedures as required. Part-time and full-time outpatient and inpatient roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography RT(R) or applicable advanced modality (e.g., CT, MRI, IR), or a recent graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program (board eligible)
  • If board eligible, required credential must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as a Radiologic Technologist or a valid ISDH Radiology Student Permit
  • Ability to safely maneuver imaging equipment and adapt positioning techniques when patient condition limits routine positioning
  • Ability to work in various clinical environments, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical, and procedural settings
  • 0–1 year of experience required (experience level and modality-specific training may vary by position and location)
  • Willingness to float between departments or locations as needed based on business needs and competency, if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Operate imaging equipment across one or more radiology modalities, including Radiography (X-ray), Fluoroscopy, Portable Imaging, CT, MRI, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, and other advanced imaging technologies, based on training, credentialing, and departmental requirements
  • Prepare and position patients
  • Explain examinations to patients
  • Collaborate with radiologists and referring providers
  • Ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging
  • Maintain patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards
  • Perform accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
  • Participate in minimally invasive or image-guided procedures as applicable
