About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has provided high reliability space electronics since the 1960s. Our teams work closely with mission partners to develop solutions enabling critical national security missions. The selected candidate will lead efforts to transition critical technologies into space. A successful candidate will lead technical efforts ensuring our space systems meet performance objectives in intense radiation environments. This includes effects due to both natural space and nuclear radiation environments. The objectives of a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff for Radiation Effects include:

Requirements

Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 15+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 13 years of job-related experience.
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraphis is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Deep subject matter expertise in natural space radiation environments including modelling and analysis techniques
Expertise in radiation effects mitigation at the component and system level
Experience integrating commercial technology into high reliability, high availability space systems
Creative, innovative, and a desire to drive change
Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
