About The Position

The Racing Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional and integrity-driven racing experience at Yonkers Raceway. This position ensures fair, competitive racing while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, service, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older and able to obtain proper licensure as required by the New York State Gaming Commission and Racing & Wagering Board
  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience within the racing industry such as racetrack operations or racing administration or a closely related field such as gaming operations, sports operations, media operations, or event management
  • Must be available to work fully onsite from 3pm-11pm with flexibility to work on Saturdays
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Has extensive knowledge of harness racing and a passion for delivering an integrity-driven, guest-focused racing experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Racing Secretary and racing team to deliver a seamless, well-coordinated racing operation that upholds integrity, professionalism, and an exceptional guest experience
  • Oversee core Race Office functions, including e-track operations, condition sheets, entries, classifications, claims, and accurate financial and record management, ensuring compliance and operational excellence
  • Direct the preparation and distribution of official race charts, programs, and wagering information with strong attention to detail, clear communication, and timely delivery to internal and external partners
  • Communicate race calls and racing information in a clear, engaging, and entertaining manner for on-site guests and the global simulcast audience, enhancing the overall entertainment experience
  • Collaborate with property leadership to promote the full guest experience, support team engagement, and consistently model MGM’s SHOW guest service standards while adhering to all operational procedures
