About This Role We are seeking highly motivated Analytical Technicians to join our R&D Analytical Science team. The candidates will work under the direction of analytical scientists to provide support for R&D and M&E analyses, with a primary technical focus on either Microscopy/Optical Spectroscopy/Surface Characterization or Liquid chromatograph/Gel Permeation Chromatography. This role will support the development, characterization, and quality assessment of various products in Coatings, Construction Chemicals, Home Care, and Personal Care businesses. You will engage closely with multiple stakeholders, making effective teamwork essential. We are looking for a proactive, self-driven individual who brings a positive attitude, takes initiative, and contributes to a respectful, improvement-focused work environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, communicates effectively, prioritizes learning, and maintains a strong safety mindset with high attention to detail when operating laboratory equipment and handling samples and chemicals.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma (or equivalent) AND 3+ years of laboratory or manufacturing experience OR a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Process Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or similar technology related area.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Prior experience with Microscopy, Optical Spectroscopy, Elemental Analysis or Surface Characterization is preferred.
  • An ability to work well with other people under tight timelines and managing priorities is critical.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Microscopy, Optical Spectroscopy, Surface Characterization, Liquid chromatography and Gel Permeation Chromatography.
  • Familiarity with analytical sample preparation methods.
  • Experience with report writing and data processing tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Execute either Microscopy/Optical Spectroscopy/Surface Characterization or Liquid chromatograph/Gel Permeation Chromatography experiments for formulated product analysis and M&E production issue troubleshooting.
  • Preparation of samples for analyses. This will require following a standard operating procedure, as well as independent thinking and the ability to adjust sample prep dependent on the matrix.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with application scientists and process engineers to ensure analytical alignment with project goals.
  • Coauthor technical reports in compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Maintain analytical instrumentation and ensure adherence to laboratory safety and quality protocols.
  • Routine lab activities such as disposing of lab waste, coordinating and shipping samples, and restocking lab areas as needed
