About This Role Join The Dow Chemical Company as a TS&D Technician in our Energy Exploration and Production (E&P) team. As part of the broader DIS organization - a diverse business serving 17 market segments with 20 technological platforms - you will help drive initiatives in safer materials, resource efficiency, carbon reduction, and the circular economy. The Industrial Solutions Energy Platform is a fast-growing, market-facing segment that leverages customized chemistries and engineering solutions to enhance upstream and downstream processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associates degree in a science related discipline or Military Degree Equivalency (MDE) and 3 or more years of relevant work experience or high school diploma/GED and 5 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including lab coat, goggles, and gloves.
  • Work for extended periods in a laboratory, including standing, bending, reaching, and lifting activities.
  • Confidently and safely move up to 50 pounds (e.g., positioning and configuring laboratory equipment such as pumps, vessels, and instruments).
  • Laboratory Instrumentation: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Laboratory Safety: Apply safety protocols, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analytical Thinking: Evaluate complex problems, interpret data, and select solutions using scientific reasoning.
  • Technical Communication and Collaboration: Clearly communicate technical data through verbal updates while working effectively in teams.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: Structure tasks, manage time, and prioritize activities to meet project goals efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in research, wet chemistry formulation development, compatibility testing, analytical laboratory, and high-pressure/high-temperature equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer software for planning, analyzing, evaluating, and documenting lab experiments and data (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, LabView and Siemens experience preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with TS&D and R&D scientists, technicians, and technologists to support customer‑driven technical requests, execute laboratory evaluations, and generate high‑quality data for E&P and EOR technologies.
  • Exchange technical information with team members and actively contribute to process improvement discussions with key stakeholders, using analytical and scientific methods.
  • Demonstrate strong technical focus, analytical acumen, and a safety-first mindset while communicating issues promptly to leaders or lead scientists to accelerate problem resolution.
  • Deliver high-quality data, support customer needs, and continuously improve laboratory efficiency.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring accurate measurements and reliable performance.
  • Prepare and perform standard and non-routine procedures, including sample preparation, formulation development, equipment setup, and proper waste disposal.
  • Troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment as needed utilizing experience to modify, build, and maintain systems (experience with high-pressure, high-temperature equipment preferred).
  • Develop experimental plans for review and approval, executing both routine and complex tasks.
  • Participate in team meetings focused on safety, process improvement, and problem solving.
  • Initiate Dow Management of Change (MOC) process as needed to ensure safe and reliable equipment use and work in accordance with facility and site Environmental Health & Safety policies.
