Why Join Us | DuPont Careers DuPont Water Solutions, a global leader in ion exchange resin and membrane technologies, is seeking an R&D Technologist to join our Process R&D team. In this role, you will collaborate with scientists and engineers on key process technology programs, supporting the optimization of existing products and the development of new process chemistry for our ion exchange resin business. This position is ideal for candidates with industrial laboratory experience who are motivated to contribute to innovative technologies that make a meaningful impact on the world. Training in DuPont’s core ion exchange resin technologies will be provided. The role is based on-site at the DuPont Michigan Operations facility in Midland, Michigan.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Two to five years of experience in an industrial laboratory setting (internship or co-op experience may be included)
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to collaborate successfully on project teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated understanding of working in compliance with safe operating procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ion exchange resins
  • Background in synthetic chemistry, including polymer and/or small-molecule synthesis
  • Experience building and maintaining Swagelok®-based or similar laboratory equipment
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, ion analysis, or polymer characterization

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize and evaluate ion exchange resin products in a laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to achieve project objectives
  • Analyze experimental data and prepare clear presentations of results, conclusions, and recommendations for technical leaders and management
  • Manage laboratory operations, including primary responsibility for designated process and analytical equipment
  • Maintain laboratory safety, procedural documentation, and compliance with safe operating practices
