About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Prepares illustrations and writes text for manuals and other documents dealing with the installation, operation, maintenance, and/or repair of Midmark's products for consumers, service technicians, distributors, dealers, and/or Midmark's own Technical Service department. May also include contextual help, release notes and knowledge base articles for digital product offerings. Performs work under the direction of Manager of Technical Publications, or other Midmark technical manager. This hybrid role is expected to be on-site in the Versailles, Ohio location 4 days a week and one day remote. This is not a remote position. ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES: Produces concise, professional, written instructions for user guides, setup sheets, service manuals and related documents. Familiar with print, electronic and embedded formats. Produces clear, readable, technical illustrations that enhance user guides, setup sheets, service manuals and related documents. Demonstrates technical publication standards with quality and consistency in assigned projects. Maintains content of Technical Library web site. Research engineering changes and product history through Bills of Materials, Engineering drawings, CO's knowledge base articles, feature documentation, acceptance criteria or other product documentation. Develops collaborative cross functional relationships that drive engineering project completion. Meets responsibilities within Midmark’s delivery and change control processes. SECONDARY DUTIES: Creates supporting material such as service or tutorial video, online content, or art production for posters, flyers, etc. Performs miscellaneous writing tasks. Other duties as needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 2-year degree in technical writing, communications, technical illustration, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Midmark will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.

Requirements

2-year degree in technical writing, communications, technical illustration, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Attention to detail, with proficiency in correcting grammar and the ability to write for different reading levels
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to identify root causes and offer solutions
Ability to interact productively with people at all levels of the organization
Ability to function without close supervision and as part of a broader team
Proficiency in graphics and desktop publishing software
Proficiency in project tracking methods or tools used by team
Familiarity with content management systems and/or HTML beneficial
